cheapest place for a mac?

  none, just walk
im wanting to step into the world of mac after hearing its a nicer place to be.

Im confused though as to whether or not i should buy a laptop or a desktop?

the specs are totally different when comparing a pc to a mac- so would a mac book seem like a lower spec than a pc laptop but still be quick?

any advice on apples would be great thanks

Depends what you're going to use it for. I have both but if I could only have the one, I'd go for a laptop and get an external monitor, for it so it can run as a desktop.

There are buyers guides on www.macrumors.com which should help.

The cheapest way in is a Mac Mini, using your existing PC keyboard, mouse and monitor.

what about the older laptop ones? ive seen a few on ebay for around the £300 mark. I know they are not brand new but ill only be using it for going online, itunes, watching films online and doing some work?

I wont be playing games so i dont need a super fast one and ive got a external hard drive that i can plug in to increase the hard drive size.

it will be plugged in all the time. i want it quick enough to not have a problem just running cos at the moment ive got a dell inspirion 6000 and its slowly dying all so i need it faster than that.

I know sod all about computer but thats the spec im after, how easy is it to upgrade ibooks? for memory?

ive not got a clue about what programs i need on it so i dont know what to look for. I need something like ms office and obviously itunes.

these are some ive been looking at? or if you can see any better please let me know? thanks
