Check auto gearbox.

Hi folks!

I’ve got check auto gearbox up on the dash, I’ve lost 2,4,6,r
I’ve taken her to Renault and on the scan it showed clutch motor2 but we he master tech said that might not be the problem? Surely if that’s what come up that has to be it doesn’t it?
He’s telling me that I need a new box at £6500 or sell the car.. selling the car isn’t going to happen tho lol.

I’ve read on here and other places that there is an update but the tech said nope don’t read forums.
Any help will be much appreciated!!

Forget Renault, and find a specialist that's much more clued up on them. Typical dealer thing of "replace the whole lot"

Hello everybody! Owning a 200 edc cup reg 2015 for less than a week and problems already started... On the cars first big trip while cruising , gearbox fell out of gears, gas pedal was lost ( imagine such a dangerous situation during an overtake or an uphill). Stopped the car, started over and reached my destination. The way back was a nightmare. Check auto gearbox flashed at the dash, again loss of gears no acceleration, start and sto again at least 5 times till back home. No issues were memorised from the ecu so no chance of guessing what triggered the malfunction thtough the dealers authorized check up. One member posted something about the battery or low voltage and i figured out that the car was fitted with a normal 64ah battery and not the supposed to have egm type. I thought that this was it (or thats what i hoped). I payed 130 euros but the next day the car was falling to neutral and had no power through the accelerator. Moving from D to N and back made the car work but each tome the message check out auto gearbox showed up and gone. Such a huge dissapointment, it doesnt matter the age of the car nor the mileage it has. Imagine purchasing a vehicle and losing every bit of confidence on going anywhere , since you dont know if you actually going to get there. So what now? Is it a 1300 euro gearbox transmission control module fix/repair/chang? Is it a sofware issue that needs to be updated? Will a recalibration sort it out? Who knows... there are not many fault reports to seek for and any piece of advice would me more than welcome please. Thank you all in advance

You’re quite right I did. A new AGM battery seems to have solved that issue. Mine would only do it on start up I.e the time of biggest drain on the battery. I don’t recall it ever doing it while moving so I think this might be a different issue 😕

my 220 trophy had 3x batteries in the time I owned it... (i sold it at 12 months old!) it used to do some crazy crazy things in the 2 weeks leading up to it finally breaking down.
