Hi guys, I’m in the middle of getting my Clio 182 back on the road after being off the road for a few years. Car was being started regularly and all seemed fine.
I was doing some work on the gear selector rod and sorting out the brakes. Then went to start the car and the car won’t start. Sometimes it don’t crank at all and other times it cranks three times and cuts out.
I’ve got a new battery on the vehicle. The starter and fuel pump have been tested and work. I’ve cleaned the earth in the passenger footwell. I’ve also cleaned the earth in the back of the gearbox. I’ve checked all fuses and relays (working fine)
The red immobiliser light does not go out. No flash just stays red.
Had a sparky out today and he thinks it’s the crank sensor but he was also unable to read the ecu from his diagnostics machine. Same issue I was having with my cheaper Chinese brand version.
Looking for some help/guidance if possible. I could have a go at changing the crank sensor but surely his diagnostics machine should have been able to pick up the ecu? Strange one.
Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you
