Thats not true, i often drift round druids at brands. Theres a 6R4 whichs is often at brands which always drifts, hes been there for years and no ones stopped him. Youre going on set down rules, reality is youd never get black flagged unless you were obviously a risk to yourself or others.

Normally what happens is theres 2 track sessions, 1st session experts are sent out first then intermediate then beginner, 2nd session everyone goes out at the same time so passing like that is what happens.

lot of expensive machinery out there!!

There is NO way I would take my car on a day that was run like that! She did look like she was in control, but in a totally different class to everyone else.

Well in my opinion the way that EVO was weaving all over the bumper of that Elise was dangerous. You are right that the whole point of a trackday is to test the limits of your car but you must still be a little bit careful. Fair enough if you want to drift around a few bends but just make sure its safe to do so!

The point of track days is to be able to push yourself and your own car to whatever limits you feel to be applicable whilst still having respect and consideration for other track users, but driving like that (not meaning the drifting - which she did well most of the time, maybe going a bit too far sometimes) ie the undertaking on corners/close to coned chicanes etc is out of order, and she should have been flagged off (as some of the tvrs were at the driving academy day last year at Hayford)

I also do think when she got some of those corners perfect it was faster than taking the corners normally. Did you ever watch that topgear where colin mcray went round the track in his focus????? he did the same and he is a pro

hahaha.. at the end of the day if your too pussy to smash your car then you shouldnt go on a track day.... but if someone smashed my car then i would make him pay..... maybe not with money

Its what happens on track days, simple as.

When me and my mates go we take a recovery lorry with us (my mate works for a recovery company) so if the worst does happen we can get the car home, or drop it off 20 miles down the road and say it happened there. Obviously wouldnt work with big accidents like that one though.

big hp, good idea! Shame i dont have a truck lying around. Ill have to stick to driving cars which arent mine for the meanwhile.

  Revels Mum & Sister

He/She was driving a bit with lack of respect for others. But on the corners he/she was getting the back out.

Was a good fun clip to watch. I enjoyed it. Nice crash :D

Glad no one got hurt. Else it wouldnt be so good but she didnt.

I never insured the Ibiza Cupra 16v for track days Rob, I just accepted the risk as the car was worth £2200 (Compo MO fit the Cup!). Im seriously considering insuring the Cup, the pearl-blue might be difficult to touch up...

Well we found out about French track day etiquette last year at Croix-en-Ternois on the Cliosport trip. But IMHO youd be lucky to get away with driving like that at a track day in the UK. Some lovely driving but if I was driving that Elise and someone cut me up that badly on a corner Id be waiting for them in the pits. You dont do that sort of thing by accident. Who gives a sh*t if youre on a track?... if there are other people around you *dont* jeopardise their machinery as well, sometimes you just have to wait til the time is right to overtake. Maybe its the Evo effect.

At the track day I was on, the only driver being an arsehole was driving an Evo and cutting everyone up on corners just the same.

That was not cutting up though...... it was just an overtake... kept the car from going sideways and went past.... where was the cuting up?

If i got beaten by a girl id be going home with my tail between my legs, not confronting them!

I agree Nick, Scoob and EVO drivers think they are the dogs because their cars flatter them though i dont think theres any disagreement in this case that the girl driving the EVO here was a talented driver.

Aledw - Know any specialist track day insurers?
