just a quickie -

i wrote a cheque to my garage of the 25th of may but i never actually gave it to them, can i still give them this cheque or will it have expired and ill have to write them another one?

hmmm not sure cos its backdated so far, think youll have to rip it up and start again to be honest, but dont quote me on that!

Will be fine. I think cheques are valid for 3 months after the date on them.

Even after the "usage" period (and seem to remember it used to be 6 months reather than three) you can still present the cheque, but the bank will communicate with the originating bank account holder to verify that it is still valid to use etc.
