Chroming Inlet

  Fiesta ST-3
Basically i want to Chrome up the Inlet manifold, well atleast shine it up alot more than it is. Sorry if this is in the wrong section as its more car cleaning i guess...

So anyways feel free to move but just wanted to know what you guys have used and what you would recomend? Id prefer to do it by had rather than use a machine. So basically what materials you used and how good an outcome can be had?

Regards Scott

Just chrome it.........it'll work out faster and much less hassle.

Polishing looks terrible IMO as nobody can get into the nooks and crannys.

^to get a good finish it needs to be polished to f**k in the first place

to be honest, leave it alone, as the plenum will run hotter, sounds dumb, but technically you're reducing the surface area and thus reducing its cooling (ok only by a few degrees, but still)

Heavy sand blast then a large size glass bead blast bring the casting up very uniform, I have done this. Its not silk smooth but its the best you'll do without wasting your time.......plus its properly clean after a final aquablast.

And a chrome finish which is slightly rough is better than a half arsed polish IMO.

But yes.......it looks better stock lol.
