Classic mobile phone are they usable?

Being as I've got to get a new phone I fancied buying a phone I actually like (ie with a flip) being as I want a cheap one I found a few on ebay but can they be used today on O2?
Battery life is likly to be poor so can you get new battery to bring them more up to date (I'm forgetfull so forgot to charge my old one).

The old Nokia is the way to go man. Indestructable just how a phone should be. Batteries last about a year too. 3330 or the 5510. :approve:

I had the nk502 orange version. Freaking brilliant phone, unfortunately I traded it in for 20 quid off when I changed phones.

I had a 7110, purely because it was a Matrix phone. One of the lads I work with still has and uses his!!

I reckon the 8310 is probably the best phone I've ever had. It was so small and did just what it needed to do.

After some recomendations now on which is better

Motorola Startac shorter battery life than I'm used to plus quite old but love the design

I used to have a Motorola V3690.
It never came down in price, so was always £100 - £300 on contract, so was WELL rare... most people thought it was a pager at the time.

I remember Steve Owen on EastEnders had one too.. but the earlier model which came in a black case.

I can even remember the TV advert; the phone has a green led on the top.. and it was flashing at this Toitoise, who thought it was winking at him! heheh.

I still have it in my drawer.. awesome awesome awesome!

Motorola eventually released the V50, which made it more mainstream (the design)

Far cry from indestructable,

But I have just bought a Tmobile MDA compact 2 with copilot, great stuff having a PDA and phone combined, have been using Compaq and HP PDAS for years now, and after seeing a family members MDA I thought, why not !!!

It makes the contacts list useful now lol being able to email, text and call from the same list.

Navigation is great too, as soon as you start the car, the bluetooth gps starts and the phone hooks up, you start Copilot and you're away.

My old PDA (Compaq 3950 i think) was fairly hefty and when I dropped it (was sitting down and it fell about 2 foot max) it broke the headphones plug giving no sound...

Was a right c**t to unlock so that I can use it on O2 aswell, oh and when I flashed the ROM to get rid of the Tmobile crap I broke it.... All working now though lol.
