and finally, i chop the bar into 3 pieces right ?

When im dragging the clay across the car (or rubbing it or whatever), once the bar has collected dirt on one side...what do i do ??

the car hasnt been washed for 3 weeks now and is pretty grafted lol..

the only difference between the top two clay bars is that the first link comes in a small plastic tub so you can keep them safe and clean.

if your doing the whole car have your clay cut into half or thirds and sit the other piece/s in a tub of luke warm water. when the piece your using becomes dirty you can fold it, but after a few times i'd swap to a clean one and put the dirty one in the tub to soak.

for srp i think you'd be better with the sonus or ideally ultimate german applicator - but as always - he's sold out lol

As soon as the clay piece can not be kneaded to get a clean face then chuck it. Also make sure it is soft, warm and plyable and you use plenty of QD or soapy water, allow the clay to glide, no need to use anymore pressure than to keep it in contact with the paint.

not kidding lol. always like this.

I was guna get a few other things tbh but i think ill wait.

I have the sonus appllicators, like the german ones, and they are utter s**t for application of polish.

ill get the sonus green stuff then, in the box. i really only want to clay the sides and the bonet to see what differences itll make. ive never clayed before.

Would it be ok if i say, washed then rinsed the car and clayed while it was wet? or is soapy water/QD a must?

I wash the car and rinse, then re-wet the panel with soapy water, the soap is a must for having proper lubrication.

hijacking the thread, but do you guys re-wash the car once clayed or do you wipe down with QD?

^Rewash

And then polish and then rewash again!

I think whats important to mention is that you cant clay your car and then just stop, coz it'll look pisch close up! May feel smoother, but in essence all your doing it removing the crap exposing the paintwork!

Graze at min after clayin

I use Cg Extreme body wash as a spray lube, when i can be assed clayin!

My cars Have always look crap after claying lol !

A rewash here after polishing depends how much dust the polish has made, If I can clean up with QD I don't bother with a re-wash.

Hoping the sonus green will arrive this morning, im guna give it a try on the wheel to see if i can move the god awful tar spots, and i might even see what come off the lower half of the doors lol.

Depends on the task in hand, the Sonus Green works well as a mild clay on good shape paint. On heavy contamination you would be best looking elsewhere.

oki. The car is okay anyways, just done the bonnet and didnt pull off very much atall. The tar spots however, are still there lol. I even tried giving it some elbow grease with no luck.

Michael haven't you recently detailed your car? You should have really clayed then before polishing, the Sonus Green will only remove very mild contamination, sometimes I am not convinced it does much at all! I would have bought a more aggressive version if you are looking to clean up your wheels, but this will remove any protection you have on them so will need to relayer once you have done it.
