clean carpets

i have seen a few threads where people are getting imaculate interior carpets, mine are full of sand and crap, i need a good shampoo as they are quite dirty, would a stiff brush and a good hoover followed by a shampoo be a good idea? if anyone can reccomend a good shampoo i would appreciate it thanks

A good vacuum cleaner will do the majority of the work for you mate.

Id only use a shampoo if they are stained by spilt drinks or something, if its only sand and general dirt id just hoover it.

Use a wet-dry vac. cleaner.

ye as above, b&q hire them out for 20 quid a day, easy to use and carpets/upholstery like new(ish)
