I've bought some matched inlets off chris 205 on here and the fact he had engine failure of some sort is making me paranoid about there being any bits of metal or anything harmful inside the inlets he suggested using an airline an blasting it through but I dont have and can't get access to an airline or parts cleaner so what can I buy or use to clean them that's in shops sorry for the essay let me no cheers

Is it ok to use a jetwash? If so I've got one in the garage what about using APC aswell?

Did the engine somehow run in reverse ?! Even if it dropped a few valves at once, the chances of anything being sent up the inlet has got to be minimal.

Am I the only one thinking this is like the mysterious "crud" which gets "sucked up" from the bottom of the petrol tank ? :S

If there was anything major in there, it would have fallen out. Shove a kitchen dish cleaner / bog brush type thing up each one and jiggle it about if you're paranoid !

.
I'll get my coat.

You'd be surprised what gets sucked back through. I've seen an engine that had a valve head drop, and pits of shrapnell made it into different cylinders
