So i take it it's the scratch and swirl remover thats leaving the marks?
What are you using to apply?

How long are you working the Swirl remover for, how much pressure ? Sounds like it is not being broken down properly.

the mark i've just took off, was like the car had been marked down the side with some kind of rubber off another vehicle, it was about a cm thick at the worst point and about 25cm long, i used the swirl remover for about 5 min, continuesly, appliing quite a bit of pressure, possibly to much? but then again i had to apply the pressure to remove the mark, should i have taken longer and applied less pressure?

You will need to apply pressure - when products leave in minor marks it is either that they have not been worked long enough so the abrasives have broken down enough, or are very old fashioned in there make up (akin to T Cut) and they stay just as abrasive how ever long you work it for so put in lots of small marks removing the bigger ones. Not used the CG guys stuff so would not like to comment on it's make up. May need following with a milder finishing polish to refine the finish and take away the swirls it is causing.

so if i were to continue using the scratch and swirl remover, then the marks might go? i'm afraid they will get worse/bigger. i'll have another go when i get chance on a small area

I am not sure, you worked it for a reasonable amount of time, though wether that is long enough by hand I don't know - what does the bottle say re. hand or machine use ? Other variables can be how much product you used and how big the area was, to much product and/or too large an area at once and you may struggle to break the abrasive partices down by hand.

I would be tempted to see if you can cure the marks it has left with a milder polish if you worried it will keep doing the same.

it says hand use, i'll give it another go on my runaround, not to ass'd about that, thanks for the advice guys :D

That would be my assumption too.

You get a similar effect, not so much scratchin, if too much product is used.
