Cleaning your car

Anyone actually had decent enough weather to clean their car in the past 8weeks? Properly I mean, as in shampoo, polish and wax? Last time I cleaned it was the warrington meet I went to, not sure how long ago that was! My car is getting on my t*ts cos it's a mess lol!

22nd of December for me, and it won't get cleaned for at least other 3 weeks, although now im up at uni it only goes to the shops once a week anyway.

Washed zymol every week

SRP by machine every 2 weeks

Waxed every 2 weeks (harly carnuba wax atm)

Edit: Can someone tell me if SRP every 2 weeks is too much!?

I wouldn't think polishing the car is necessary every two weeks?:S

Wash mine twice a week. Can't stand it not shining!

I thought it wqas a very mild polish with very very little abrasives in?

Waxed the 182 over Xmas.

Cleaned the Glass on the 306 at the weekend, and those are about all I have done since early October.

SRP would be fine to use every week if you like - don't see the point, once every 3-4 months should be fine. Just wash and QD and maybe stick a coat of wax on once or twice a month.

Last Saturday; Jet washed the underneath(get the salt off) Washed, Polished with srp, then egp, then waxed (all by hand :dapprove: ), tyres dressed, all plastics dressed, interior done, windows polished inside and out, wheels off to clean behind, and clean the arches. Engine bay given the quick once over.

Then about 20 mins later it P*ssed it down..... LOl oh well

I try to give mine a quick wash once a week and quick detailer wax.

The most i'll let it go is two weeks depending on the mileage I have done.

Once winters gone, Clay, SRP, EGP and wax.

Then wax once a month and SRP, EGP and wax every 3 months.

It will be fine but no point! Just rewax it, no point SRPing so often. I do mine once every 3 months max, probably closer to 6.

it been 6 weeks for me which is odd for me as i wash and wax my car every week without fail. neighbours think there's something wrong with me lol. just got my self a lancer so going to do the full works on the clio this weekend if the weather lets me.

Theres still very mild swirls on mine to be fair and i cant be arsed to polish it with abrasives, i was under the impression it will very very slowly be getting rid of these!

SRP contains more fillers than it does abbrassives, you will mostly be hiding them.

Maybe by 2020 you might have got rid of a few, drying the car will probably induce as many as you get rid of though unless you are very carefull!

Last weekend. Weather was fine for most of the day until half way through sealing when it started to spit for a few minutes. Carried on after but it started to rain properly before i could get any wax down :dapprove:

Nope, it's f* gutting too as I got a G220 and loads of stuff for Christmas and not been able to do anything.

Hoping for good weather in MK tomorrow to spend the day on the other halfs Punto and going to my olds in early Feb to detail the Audi (in a heated workshop though thankfully!)
