Clicking suspension when breaking

Basically as above, it started a few weeks ago when I had to brake hard due to lights changing (wasn't speeding honest :quiet sounded like it came from the front drivers side wheel area. Pretty sure its the suspension.
Over the last few weeks it's happened more and more often to the point that everytime i brake now i hear it. Read it could be top mounts, any advice appreciated.

just to let you know, wasn't suspension, was a knackered caliper, think he said worn sliders? or something along those lines....basically new caliper and jobs a good 'en
