Hi guys. I don't post much on here but bought a vx220 from a member a few years ago, so i hope you can help
My sisters car (not strictly a cliosport ) 1.2 from 2005 has started overheating in traffic (fan not coming on)
checked fuses.. ok
checked relay having traced the wire back.. ok
check fan by wiring straight into 12v.. ok
using a multimeter, I checked the pins on where the relay plugs in. The (what I assume should be) 12v live feed to the switched end of the relay only reads 1.3v (1.55v when engine running)
she has to drive all over the place this weekend so I wired in my own 12v feed from the battery to the relay, and hey presto the fan comes on when it starts to overheat.
what would cause this low voltage?
cheers
Richard
