Clio 1.6 si hazard light problem

We have a clio 1.6 si V reg. When driving along or any random time the hazard lights will come on, pressing the switch does not switch them off, it sort of doubles the clicking noise of the hazards.

Any ideas?

there is also i red light on next to the switch

Please help!! the alarm is going off when the car is unlocked using the remote key fob, if its opened by putting the key in the door it doesnt do it, but the hazards are still going.

driving us mad, any advice please
