yeah ..... after a 1.6 too near the end of the year.
Ive been told that theyre really good on fuel as well and the running costs arent all that bad to be fair.

Not really, the price has really fell out of them since the Mk3 was released. Payed £6k for mine in march 06 and got 3.5k part ex for it, such is life.

im not sure about it all. ive had mixed quotes. between £1400 and £1700. Insurance is do-able tbh but ill have to see what situation im in nearer the time.

I feel privileged then! Mines a Y-reg Mk2 Ph1 1.6RSi in Black Pearl Metallic 676 with half leather and alloy bonnet and boot. Totally standard (even the origional CD player) and excellent condition throughout, fsh (90% Renault) Renault dealer fitted alarm, 1 prev owner 83k miles.
Out of interest how much do you think it would be worth?

before my 182, I had the 1.4 16v Mk2 Ph2. Ins grp 5, £120 tax excellent fuel consumption and only 12 bhp down on the 1.6 and it didn't show. there was a cigarette paper between the 1.4 and 1.6 on the road. Hence I didn't bother with the 1.6 when I bought it from new.
Think you're more likely to find a black 1.4 than a 1.6 as well. Probably cheaper to buy too?

im after a 1.6 because my insurance said at 17 = upto 13.50cc 19 = up tp 1650cc and 21 = anything else (trade policy) i can drive any size engine for work but not social, so im maxin out my uses
