Clio 1.9 Dt - White Shark





Oi, I call Nuno Salgado and I am of Portugal. I have one renault clio 1.9cc diesel. This clio was bought new for me and was an advertising (2 places), later I transformed it for 5 places and was developing mine project. This project has 2 years and goes to show the material list that already has as well as some photos of the car.
The car had atmospheric engine 1.9cc and at this moment it has an engine 1.9cc Turbo, proceeding from volvo S40. This engine had as initial base 93cv and 180Nm.

Mechanical alterations

Motor: Volvo S40 1.9Dt

Turbo: Geometry Variable VNT20 - A6 2.5Tdi

Intercooler: Passat Tdi115cv

Power and Torque: 149cv and 248Nm

Admission Air: Double Eagle Entered

Bar Anti-Approach Sparco

Inject Bomb: Mégane 1.9Dt

Cx speeds: Mégane 1.9Dt

Clutch: Strengthened in copper

Suspension: Koni Sport regulable

Springs Degradation: Vogtland Violet -60mm gradual

Wheels: 15*6.5

Mi piace tanto...looking good, you must have spent alot of money on sorting all of that out..and 220kmh showing on the clock that is just under 140mph. Have you done any 0-400m with it, or any 0-100kmh times..

Here it is a video of a comparative degree that was made has 1 year with 2 more than dcis of 80cv chiped. My clio had in the height only 119cv.

Very nice. loving that, Amazing seeing that volvo engine crammed in there. torque figures are great.

What is cv compared to in bhp?
 


CV is the same...if Portugese is the same as Italian it means Cavalli which is just the word for horse. Pain in the a**e though as they also show alot of things in KW..completely lost with that one..

Good spec there what injecotors are you running they must be maxed out runing at that big a window.

How difficult was the engine to install and what ECU are you running?

That -20 your running is fine upto 27psi without any issues if your feeing like maxing out.

I take it thers no space for a front mounted intercooler?

It would help get more air so even bigger custom injectors and well over 200hp is easily possible.
Whats the -20 like spooling up its a bit of a big turbo realy?
By the way it looks like the 2.2 Renault/Nissian engine will fit the bay I know its dci and running will be more difficult to achive but 150 stock is a good starting point.

Hi, at this moment od peaks of the injectors is of origin of the engine, only if it changed the inject bomb and it gave fuel debit. The rank of the engine 2.2Dci was complicated due á electrónic that bring, is that my clio does not have cables for this. This engine does not use ECU, is completely mechanic and without electrónic.
Exists the possibility to place the engine of the laguna 2.2Dt with 115Bhp, but was necessary to place the battery motor place to fit it. What this in study at this moment is the exchange of the injectors for the injectors of this engine that I relate, laguna 2.2Dt.
The turbo that the car has of fact is well bigger that of origin and the profits had been noticed, exist a little of turbo lag. has to know drive it and to walk with the rotation of the engine in the band more favoravel for this not to notice itself.
 


The engine in the S40 at that time was a Renault engine anyway, so the same basic unit as found in the Clio but with a turbo so I would imagine probably not to bad a job to install. Only lately have Volvo started using Ford engines..

Torranzinho - Do you have any performance figures for the car??

As the clio this at this moment still not have filmed comparative degrees already I made comparative degrees with other cars and I was superior with an advantage. I compared with one seat Ibiza tdi 130bhp and did not have minimal chance.

I drive them S40 1.9Ds quite alot - and there pretty nippy/torquey in the volvo, in the Clio that will be absolutely awesome!

She is with much penalty mine that I come to announce that the engine of my clio damaged.
Valvulas of turbulenc had melted and one of pistoes chipped.
For already I go to again mount the engine 1.9D until seeing.
I am exactly sad with this, project already went very interest and the engine already took 160cv... better days will come.

Can you please explain what "Valvulas of turbulenc had melted" means please?
Such a shame. Are you going to try for more power. 200hp at the wheels is possible if you get a big enough turbo blowing 2 bar boost and massive injectors running high pressure.

This project has walked to give steps. The engine this to suffer deeper alterations and inside from little time is ready... new parts had been however acquired to give entered in the new dimension of project. Here they are for already the images of the new turbo proceeding from the Renault Master 2.8Dci.

Finally I mounted the back axle of the clio Williams. It is a rigido axle sufficiently more and very notices and its behavior in the road, and I started to have record brakes ace 4 wheels. It is the preparation of the braking will be able to receive the new engine. So does not arrive to walk, is necessary tb to stop. WOW scarey Diesel, thats gona be only the 3rd one ive been scared of.

1.9 CDTi focus is faster than mine

BMW 3.0D also kicked my ass.

as for 1.8 audis and 1.8 focuses i can just about leave them.

im sure there lots more faster than a 1.4 but i only get chance to give them some stick with the work hire cars.

some serious work gone into this project. it is a shame its dead.
