Clio 172 cup

So this happened today. Finally got myself a cup. I am over the moon with it . Drives fantastically and so much fun. An absolute bargain imo . Is booked in for service and belts depheser etc st rentec in portobello who are 5 mins from me as belts are obviously due. Will be getting wheels refurbished in bright silver. It has few other bits the seller forgot to mention like poky engine end dogbone mounts. Yanoo shifter. I absolutely love it.

I rang the lad about that car, so your the one who beat me too it ( you were on route when I rang)lol, he did mention the breaks would need doing aswell , when I enquired about what it would need to get through its mot!

The seller had lots of interest, even a boy from France! I've already contacted George to get new brakes all round. Already has braided lines. I budgeted a couple of grand all in. Still be a cheap cup at that money with the spec once belts done so I'm happy. Drives tight as a drum. Receipts could choke a horse!

I had a cup which I bought brand new back in 2003 and I loved it and always wanted another. Still think they look great today and for the money they can't be beat. I've now had 2 cups, 2 ph1 172 and a Williams 3. Fair to say I like my Renault sports lol.

Have to say the prospeed exhaust is a nice bit of kit. Has a middle silencer so not loud but sounds good and looks very well made and is properly stealth. Still has original air box, I may get a ktec induction kit as I had one on my ph1 and they do sound very nice.

I do indeed, this is a sad day for me! I actually asked the lad that bought it from me to let me know if/when he sold it. I wish I'd known as I'm actually in the position to get another

I spent a lot of money on it when I had it and it's still the nicest one I've driven.

Sounds like it's been let go a little but will no doubt take very little to get it back up to scratch, I'll keep a close eye on this...

Yes , has a few dings and scuffs on the body which a pdr guy can hopefully sort, wheels need refurb as well. It's currently with my local specialist for belts , service, brakes and mot, it drives great though, feels really tight , can't wait to get it back and enjoy it.

So finally got the cup back from rentec in Edinburgh. Left it with them to prep for mot and do the belts, Dephaser, water pump plugs and oil and filters it also had new brembos front and back.including pads from George, it needed a few other bits, new rear high level brake light, rear number plate light unit and horn wires had corroded so they fixed that. Great service from the guys. So it's now freshly mot'd and driving fantastically. Such great fun to drive now that I can drive it without knowing the belts were five years old lol. Gave it a good wash and git all the crap out the rear arches etc. Scrubs up well. Wheels badly letting it down and needs a good polish but I'll get there. Anyway some pics.

Miss my cup every day, still have it as my phone wallpaper 2 years later.....
Sounds like you're going to take good care of it so I'll be following. Will it be OEM but with a few trick bits?
