During the intake stroke its harder to get the engine to fire as there isnt yet any compression so tends not to have an effect, but there is the potential for an inlet backfire in certain circumstances yes.

Best bet really is for you to just do a continuity test between your coilpack and the ECU connector etc to be certain, as renault like to change things around a bit, plus will be slightly different Ph1 to Ph2 etc of course.
