i am from roumania and
i bought a clio 172 few month ago,happy at the beginning
the car arrived
engine sound nice ,body in fair condition
i intend to use it on track day but still to keep it road legal
i move the batery in the boot,put red eibach,replace front shocks with cup ones,air cone removed
brake fluid motul rb 600,change oil,timing belt,dephaser
drive well for 200 miles,fast,pretty happy with it
and engine start began making noise
i took off the oil pan and connection rod bearing on piston 3 gone.crankshaft gone.connection road gone
i took off the cylinder head and ......gone too
when i change the timing i change the dephaser seal,because was leaking oil.after 100 miles it start leaking again.beacause the cylinder head was damage the seal cood not stop the oil in excess.
bad luck.i got a clio with a bad engine.
start looking after another engine ...found one in essex,300
arrange transport to roumania another 100
engine arrived and i took off the oil filter and put it on a piece of paper and check the oil ......i found metal filings:rage:
i open no 2 engine cylinder head was in the same condition like no 1 but crankshaft connection rod piston was ok.
i will replace crankshaft bearing and shoud be ok.i send the cylinder head to a specialist who
thinks can repair
is possibil to rebuild it
meanwhile my car is so
am i lucky or not????????
