Audi A3
Evening all,
Picked up my 53 plate 172 today. And so my project begins.
What had initially started as a track project in my mind has turned into a sleeper project. Mainly as i saw this on Ebay. Looks great, drives great, just a little lacking in paperwork. Plenty of reciepts for parts that the previous owner has used himself to service.
Reason for now wanting a sleeper, is finding a car that was in such a good condition. 53 plate, 80k on the clock. Just stunning. I couldnt walk away from it.
So inital plan, due to not having a lot of paper work; going in for a full service, check up and a few extras added on. Spoke to John at demon tweeks, so i am currently awaiting a new clutch, ebc grooved and vented discs with green stuff pads all round, braided brake hoses and coilovers. Engine will come out for a full service, doing all the belts whilst its there and fitting the clutch. Then add all the extra bits on after. Should be done within 4 to 6 weeks I'm hoping. Will try and still do a track day in it too.
Longer term plans; bit of a restoration on the inside. Seats could do with a touch up, the thumb grips have pretty much gone on the steering wheel. Little things like that i can do over time.
The main bit will be the engine. I am eventully planning on having a fully forged turbo in her. Hence my sleeper idea. That may take a bit of time. Few overtime shifts here and there too!! But by the end of it, im hoping to have myself a car that is even more wonderul to drive than she currently is!!
Oh, and powder coat the alloys white... I just think that would look a little better!! Ive attached some photos.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Keep safe guys and girls
