It’s a 20 year old car that’s had some money spent on it to make it more track capable. Engine dynamics are a reputable engine builder. LSD is always a nice thing to have on a circuit.

Listed at £6,500.

It’ll have its bodywork problems both externally and internally like any 20 year old car, but you’re not buying a classic with a comprehensive history of restoration and service work.

You couldn’t buy a standard 172 Cup, then build it to that spec for £6,500 anyway. It’s really a question of what you want to do with it long term. How long the engine will last given it’ll have been hammered and if you’ve got deep enough pockets to keep it going.

Turbo power means more heat and more strain on the box. You’ll whizz past most stock Clios in circuit for a few Laps, then spend the next few in the pits or crawling around trying to cool everything down. Good Engines and gearboxes are getting hard to find now.

It’s a lottery I’m afraid. Good luck!

Yes that's all I can do really as you say your taking your chances with builds like this that have seen a few owners since the original build , I'll let you know how I get on . Hopefully a good post incoming .
