Clio 182 catalytic converter

  Clio 182
Hi

New to the site
I bought a clio 182, 2004 that I am currently turning into a track car , it has a custom exhaust , which is standard manifold , then a straight pipe , then long life back box/pipes , basically I want to fit a cat to it , there is 2 sensors , one at bottom of manifold and one near centre of the car on the middle pipe , I have bought a cat from eurocarparts, but this has a hole for a sensor on one end , just wandering why that hole is in the cat as I thought it had pre cat/post cat sensors , I’m guessing I need a mid section of the exhaust (£290) from Renault ? any information/help would be great

On a 182 the pre cat sensor is in the manifold just before the cat and the post cat sensor is on the exit and of the cat

Ok , this is my exhaust , but that sensor on the mid pipe is further back than the cat one , when I measured it , so do I need to fit the cat to manifold, then cut the mid pipe to fit to cat , plug sensor into cat and engine light will go out and will hopefully pass mot

Yeh cut that bodged pipe and fit the cat. Then you will need to fit a blanking bolt into the hole in the straight pipe and put the sensor into the hole in the cat.

Pre cat sensor will be fine
