I used Autoglym headlight restoration kit, which I think is a great product after seeing the result of my 182 Cup headlights after finishing, brill. A few pics of before and after.

I used headlight surface sealant after on the headlights to protect the finish.

Are you refurbishing non-xenon lights??

Just replace them, not that expensive and you don't have to re-do it every 6 months.

They are the standard Cup headlights, it’s not about the price off replacing them, I had bought the restoration kit after buying the Cup abt 9 months ago and was always doin it but finally got around to do it.

If it's the same kit I have with the drill attachment it was so easy to use and the results were really good.

I replaced mine over two years ago with a set of Depo ones for about £60. They still look new now, I couldn’t be arsed messing about polishing them.

They’re a straight swap, although swapping Xenons for standard lights isn’t usually done.

I did it, quite frankly the difference in the light output is pretty negligible.
Stock Xenons are dipped beam only.

Good ones ain't cheap tho, like over 30 quid a bulb for Osram or Phillips.

It's worth buying quality bulbs.

The Audi TT i had a couple years ago, had cheap ebay Xenon bulbs installed and generated too much heat and burnt all the reflective material inside the projectors. Cost me about £300 for some RS4 projectors with clear lens. but new headlight units were £600 each.

Think i paid about £70 for a pair of Osram bulbs and they were incredible with the uprated projectors

Hi,

What do you use to coat them?

I was using an expensive UV resistant wax after doing a "restoration" but it only seemed to delay the inevitable by about 12-24 months. Alternatively has anyone replaced the plastic covers on their xenon headlights?

Thanks,
