Clio 182 help

  CTR
Hi, im quite new on here, basically i have been looking for a clio i have now decided to go for a 182 i have 7k max to spend i have found a couple but need some advice,

2005 182, 44,600 miles, factory fitted recaro seats, cup extras, FSH, 2 owners looking for £7200

2004 182 30,000 miles, FSH £6995

There both look really nice i would say im being drawn to the 2005 with recaro's etc, can someone help me when do both of these cars require the cambelt and the aux belt? Also any ideas to how much this will set me back?

What would you sugest for the main things to look out for when buying a 182? Does millage worry you?

Thankyou

  172 Race Car
aux belt kit at 36,000 mile or 3 years
cambelt at 72,000 miles or 5 years.

Milage not a prob as long as its been serviced properly.

Id go for the higher spec one if it was me, be easier to sell on when the time comes.

cost to do the cambelt ranges from £450-1000! depending on who does it.

best to have waterpump replaced too as if it fails the whole jobs needs to be done again.

when i had it done on my 172, reno said £750. got it done by a french car indy garage for £475.

some on here have been quoted £500 by reno but most reno quotes are in the range of 600-1000.

i think servicing prices are on gdi website

http://www.greydevilindustries.com/Products/default.asp?type=dept&DepartmentID=14124&MID=

i would go for the 05 plate with both cup packs and recaros they were something like an £850 option, just make sure all the buttons work (cruise control etc) listen for any squeaking from suspension at slow speeds parking etc its a cheap fix with some grease on some rubbers and a set of £10 washers but may help you haggle on price ! also lisen for any noise from the aux belt the tensioner on them is rubbish, make sure on the 36k service3 that was done the aux belt and idler/tensioner was changed. not all renault garages know what should have been done for the 36k service.

i see for some reason it wont let me, basically there look the same on the outside apart from the 2005 having the mork grey coloured alloys, i think im gonna go for the 2005, aslong as the aux belt has been done, i dont think 44,000 miles is nothing to worry about really is it?

thats not a problem, 1 that i looked at also did showed up in RED, but Hpi can be little out of date, as when i looked at my first 182, guy proved that he had just finished the last payment 1 month ago, but Hpi said outstanding finance....
ask the guy, get him to prove he has paid, also Hpi should give you the finance company and their tel no, etc ring them also....
