Got myself a bit of a track project, been looking at the usual suspects for the past year or so with the Cooper S, C2 VTS, Swift Sport and a few more out there things.
Friend of a friend was selling a 182 at a good price so I went for a look, drove it for 2 minutes and wanted it straight away, the spec is as follows.
94k on clock
Aircon and power steering removed and alternator relocated with shorter belt.
Plastic windows on sides with sliders in the front ones
Roof scoop, properly done so it can be open and closed
Half cage bolted in
Bilstein B14 coilovers
Bucket seat and harness
Full Miltek resonated exhaust with 4 into 1 manifold and decat pipe
Ramair Induction Kit & System
Phase 1 wheels with 888 tyres all with plenty of life left
OMP deepdish wheel
All belts done last year along with new radiator
Ideally need a new seat, just so I’ve got my own and a new wheel there’s nothing wrong with the current one but again nice to have a fresh one you can call your own. The plans are to take it to 3-4 track days over the summer and then tidy things up a bit from there, I may even add a few creature comforts in to the interior.
Took it for it’s first drive yesterday in the afternoon sun, not sure of the actual weight but boy she’s light and you can really feel it, no power steering is great (when moving) and the noise is great too when on VVT but with the resonated system even stripped out it’s genuinely not overly loud when pottering around.
Already been admiring some builds on here and trying to get some inspiration.
