I think 190bhp would be plenty if the weight issue is resolved.

The next class up (e.g. Leon, Astra, Focus size) may well be powered to the tune of 225+bhp, but they are bigger cars - and not quicker.

I expect the new Clio will still be the most powerful in the supermini class.
