Probably been asked before but couldnt find anything. I have a 197 and when its cold it sometimes runs very rough. its done 30,000 i have recently brought it and not sure if it should be like this. I have tried optimax its a little better but still does it thanks in advance!!

All do it. Mine did and also had this suppose cold start software upgrade. That didnt cure it either. Just have to put up with it really

I dont get what the fuss is all about personally as i havnt noticed it with mine (unless its barely noticeable) but then i have always had a rule of never going above 3k before 15/20 mins on the road anyway so its obviously warm by this time!

At what point on the rev range is it noticeable?

You've only driven it twice ;)

Mine was horrific. Bunny hopping all over the shop for the first few mins. That i dont miss lol

There's a fix available. It helps get rid of it by revving the engine slightly higher from cold. Can't remember the code but if you search for it I'm sure you'll find several threads on it.

Four times now! ;)

I have seriously not noticed any bunny hopping mind - Well no different to the start on the 182 although it does sound like a bag of spanners being rattled for a few mintes on start up! Maybe it just needs its second tank of V-Power!

Yep mine does this too, only when its REALLY cold out though. And it does go away after a minute or two. Its in renault now for that and the wear on my recaros. TBH ot more me being picky and chancing renault might fix it. Dont hold out much hope though lol. If you want more info on it have a searcg on here or clio197.net :)

Is that what it is!?

I fail then as i have never paid that much notice to the fact the front bumpers on our even has a blanking cap! lol

Worked on mine for a fortnight tops, then it seemed to 'default' back. Also its not when its cold, as in outside ambient temp, more car engine temp (first thing in the morning). Did it all year round

I'm bordering on blind! What more can I say!? ;)

I'm still gonna have a look for this cap on the front bumper the weekend as I still dont reckon it exists! lol

That's what I meant. This is a car forum not the Met Office ;)

Mine still works fine after having it, has got rid of the hopping wotsit.

My does it for the first minute or so. Doesn't matter how low you keep the revs, you still look like a learner bunny hoping down the road.

You have to laugh really. I always tell people who have been in my car for the first time. The look on their faces..priceless.

Most do it. My 182 did it. Nothing to do with thrashing when cold. It feels like it's rolling on 3 cylinders right from the off. Characteristic of a performance engine apparently (roffle)

Glad to hear it, just got the call from Renault, they've just reprogrammed mine for this, picking it up this afternoon :)
