Clio 2 Rear door will not unlock/open? help!

Hello all.

I have just picked up a 2002 Clio 2 Autnentique and was told by the previous owner that the rear offside door will not open. Having had a little look it seems the door will not open using the inside or outside handles. When I unlock the car using the fob the door lock pin attempts to move up but doesn't. It also seems impossible to pull the pin up, having used quite a bit of force., (I darent pull too hard incase i break it)

any suggestions?

Exact same issue with my 1.2, complete pain in arsd, had a quick look by taking the inner door card off but I like u are waiting for a helpfull answer.
