Well, I replaced the ratchet mechanism on my clio to try and cure the creaking clutch. It worked, however I now have a different noise!!!! It's now something to do with the brand new ratchet. It sounds like a zip tie being pulled every time I press the pedal. It only happens on the down stroke tho. It also seems to only happen at the very top of the stroke, i.e when its taking up the slack if u see what I mean.
Is there a specific way to fit new clutch pedal ratchets? Do they need to be adjusted or something?
