I have a Clio 1.2 16v extreme. 52 plate and there is a light on the dashboard lower right corner and in the manual it says it is exhaust gas monitor, since this light there has been a misfire and the engine is hunting, when idling the engine will almost cut out but then rev itself back up again. Another problem is that occassionaly when driving when accelerating the car will have no response at all and the engine will almost stall, then after a few seconds it will suddenly pick back up again. It doesnt do this all the time however. There is also a ticking noise coming from behind the o/s headlight after the engine is switched off. All of these problems only happened when the light came on. Any help appreciated.
