clio dynamique dci warranty

  Burgandy 174 sport t

ok i think my clutch is fecked, just wanted to know if u all think reno will repair under warranty, i dont! its an 02 with 25 k, wat do ya think???

It depends on whether or not its normal wear and tear. If you have been dropping the clutch at 4k all the time then its not covered. However I cannot see that it should wear under normal driving for about 150k+

If the clutch has broke though under normal use then it will be replaced under warently and if you compain enough you maybe could get a free service thrown in.

What exactly is wrong with it?

EDD

Yeah but how can they prove that, get them to fix it, EVO magazine got their Cups clutch changed under warrenty and theirs had done 34 k and had been used on track and in performance tests.

Just looking in the warranty handbook, the only things to do with the clutch that are not covered after one year are, clutch facings. As long as youve serviced it at Renault then there should be no problem.

its over a year now though, and they already think i cane the thing. coz its in all the time. new cylinder head, injectors, turbo etc. had every f**kin hire car under the sun!

Sounds like you realy hammer it or just have an unlucky car.

Is it the 80 hp version or the 65 then?

If you hammer the clutch then it will wear faster so cannot be classed as Renaults fault. If the car isnt going into gear then isnt it the geabox thats going. Have you tried refusing the car when you have had so many problems with it?

EDD

how can u hammer a diesal ? either that or u just hammer it coz u get angry at it! lol

I personally think u should be able to get away with it...

of course i have tried refusing the car but dont get ne where, so far ive had a free service and 150 of vouchers to buy more reno crap. was drivin home last night and bang no clutch couldnt get it in ne gear, aa came and said the clutch had collapsed? went to reno this morn and they already have the gearbox off so will let u know what happens, the wee reno dude reckons an oil seal has broken????

the wee diesel is just as nippy as the 1.2 16v and can get alot more more miles to a tank too so sounded like a wise option, i pulled away from a 1.2 on the m6 couple of weeks ago, v little but it did upto 115 down hill. lol

edde its the 65! u?

Fookin ell. I drive mine hard but nowt wrong so far. Mines an 80bhp 02 plate with 24k on it. 18k were done by the dealership before I bought it. AFAIK nothing has been done to it other than a servicing and a few cosmetic things.

jus wheels and windows mate thats all i done basically coz i cant rely on the car to be able to chance doin ne thin performnce wise, as hard as me?? im onto my third set of brake pads now. first broke down at 6k when the alternator belt wasnt aligned properly and started to rub, this meant bits of the belt were shredding off until 6k when bits got tangled in the timing belt and well bent valves and all sorts, needed a new turbo for some reason too. that was about £3.5k worth of work that time includin labour of three weeks, a new cylinder head costs 800 odd quid by the way! how much more are they gonna spend on warranty work and free services, totally fed up with it now!

do you think they would buy it off me???

You can hammer a diesel just as muh as a petrol all you have to do is rev it and keep dropping the clutch that willnt do it much good.

Renault will keep fixing the car until your warently expires. Its not worth giving you a new car or your money back as they have spend so much on it also what would they do with a 2yr old Clio with loads of problems they cannot resue the parts in the production run.

I have a 65hp versiion as well.

Renault might buy it back of you but they wont offer a good value for it I think book value is your best chance.

Im fed up with my Clio at the moment with the rattling sunroof and noise but I think its just cos of the amount of driving that I do and the drive to and from work that I do that annoys me.

The more I think about it the less lilky that I will buy and french car ever again the same goes to any car with a poor stearing feedback I miss my Escort more and more as that was excellent.

Soory to hear about all your probelsm with the car though seems like you got the Friday night production model which was made after way to many bottles had been drunk.
