Seems like a good idea to me. I wouldn't buy one, but there are plenty that will no doubt.

I think Renault are trying to provide an affordable, alternative to the 197.

In terms of looks, it's not my cup of tea either, it doesn't have the sporty/performance appearence of it's predecessors, i.e. the 172, 182 and 197.

I think it will be more suited to people with a bit of cash, looking for an alternative, viable car which has an acceptable insurance group with still a bit of kick. IMO - it does not fit in with the real sports...

The number of people who are like 'Wow a Clio with a 2.0ltr engine!' but not grasping the fact thats its the 172/182/197 bhp its making which is the impressive bit.

EXACTLY!! AGREED!! Why do people think that? People just think it's an ordinary Clio with a 'Sport' badge wacked on the back.

Lets just say... That badge will get smaller and smaller as the drivers right foot gets heavier and heavier...

Mind you if the GT comes out with 150bhp its certainly going to steal a few sales from the Fiesta ST (the flagship Fiesta HA)!
