Clio II Phase 1 - Fog (driving) Light Adjustment

  Clio II Ph1
Is there a procedure anyone is aware of to adjust the fog/driving lights correctly? Mine appear to be lighting up the ground only a meter or so in front of the car.

Cheers :)

so they are not adjustable at all? If that's really the case then they really do little to help vision in fog or no fog as they literally just light up 1 meter of road.

That's correct, they don't light very far, but they do diffuse a lot of light over a wide angle, which is how people can see you coming towards them, but they aren't intended to increase your viewing distance. Without the fog in the way, they become blinding, which is why you don't use them in clear conditions.

They are adjustable, unscrew the two bolts at the top of the unit and pull it out and there's a wheel on the back to adjust it, but they've already been set up and no adjustment is required.

Perhaps the new ones i have installed are not adjusted correctly as the old (original) ones were different. I replaced the old ones as they started to leak and also the glass was becoming frosted which made them very glary to oncoming traffic. But they did seem to be aimed considerably higher.

Please don't be one of them that drive around at night with sidelights and fogs on. Gets on my wick!

Fog-lights are normally white/the bog standard colour. Quite a few people tint them yellow/orange with film, though.

This! really does my head in!

You could rig them up to the high beam though i guess so they will come on when on high beam on an empty B road at night! My 205 Mi16 lit the road up great with HID's and driving lights and i kinda miss it round some of the country lanes round here

I can't see anything with my standard lights on. They are adjusted to the highest point but feel like they are pointing at the floor :/.

Fogs are definitely handy on country lanes, I find it gives me much more visibility to the side so I can see the curb better, obviously with them being lower near the floor.
