Clio MK2 1.2 - Top Mount Issue

  182
I was wondering if someone could lend abit of advice please.. I had the nearside front shock replaced by a local garage. There has been some knocking from that side whilst driving.
The top mount was finger tight so I took it off to take a look. The height of the thread looks excessive. Does anything look to be missing from underneath?

I’ve had to screw the top mount down a lot to get it tight…. And the knocking is pretty much gone.

Nope there is a metal spacer that sides down the middle of the big rubber doughnut, the small 13mm nut then tightens down against it which holds it all together then that big top hat goes on once on the car

found this online which shows it...

@Martin_172 Thanks :) I just need to source one of those metal spacers.

The garage which fitted the shock must have lost it. They left the top donut / top mount only finger tight too..
