Clio Rims

  Z4 Coupe 3.0 Sport

Ive got a phase 1 clio 1.4 RT. Im looking to get alloys fitted, and it lowered. I think 16s are the safe option (BK Racing alloys) with the front springs lowered by about 45mm and the back by about the same. Would this be ok, or would it affect the handling. i.e tyre rubbing, etc.

Cheers

Well, itll affect the handling - itll be better! ;)

You may find you get a bit of rubbing though on 16s, unless you roll the arches back. Most RTs that I know of stick to 15s as they are less hassle, though I have seen one on 17s - with about a Rizlas worth of gap between the arch and the tyre!

45mm is a good amount to lower by, noticeable but not excessive.

One slight detrimental thing is that you may find acceleration deteriorates slightly due to the increased rolling radius of the tyre - but not too noticeable Id imagine.

Hope thats of some sort of use... Anyone else? :)
