clio rs problems

Hi, just bought one about 2 weeks ago. It stalls on cold starts (every morning, or at the end of the day). To prevent stalling, I have to hold the ignition, the engine would struggle then start... but still strugles a bit for 30 seconds or so after start.

I went to the dealer, they said all the software are normal, and thers nothign to change. anyone has any suggestions? Im using 95RON fuels at the moment, i will change to 98 the next tank, but...some how it may not be as simple as fuel...

Hi, and welcome Your car should not do this - the RS will sometimes fail to start first time but almost always starts at the second attempt. 95 or 98RON fuel doesnt affect starting on mine.

i used to have early morning stalls. they reloaded the injection onto the ecu and was better. fuel ecconomy went up too

thanks guys, I took it back to the dealer but they said theres no proble with the ECU and software. Strange thing is, this mroning, first morning after the deale rvisit, it starts fine. likewise tonight after work. Im wondering if sometimes dealers under instruction from manufactures do not tell you if they fixed something, just so the manufacture wont look bad?? It has happened to my friends Integra Type R, well I live in Australia it maybe diferent overseas... but I wonder why.. espcially with a car like the Clio RS... you wont buy this, unless you know what it is, and well atleast for me, I dont even care or think its an inferior product because of the faults. To me, its just a feature...if you ahve driven landrovers youd know, peopel buy land rovers because they break down... well sort of.

Cold start injector? Just give the throttle a tickle as you start her up.

they dont have a cold start injector and modern petrol renaults should be started without pressing the throttle pedal.Mine starts first time everytime so he must have a problem,sounds like his local renault dealer isnt very good though.
