Clio RSi mystery noise

Hi everyone

I own a Clio RSi (96) and I have recently noticed a knocking/rattling noise coming from the front drivers side whenever I hit a rough patch of road (by the way, the car ISNT lowered).

Any suggestions as to what could be causing the noise would be appreciated. I just need some questions/suggestions to throw at my local garage as its going in for a service Wed.

i can tell you i am almost 100% on this one,i had the same on my 16v,in the end it was the top engine mount that was making the noise,done it yesturday,it cured it, £80 inc vat renault only part!!

Ouch!

That sounds pretty bad! What couldve caused that then???
