Clio Servicing costs

  Golf gti
Newbie to the Clio world - sort of. My girlfriend has recently purchased an '06 Clio Campus 1.2 16v Sport which i thought would be a fairly cheap smart run around.

She (the car) is due her first service in July this year so I thought I'd give Renault a call to get an indication of the cost. £220 they said!!! What the hell?? Surely £220 for a service on a 1.2 Clio can't be right??

So i tried another dealer who said £210. These are crazy prices. My Golf Gti is £120 to service after 1 year!!

So, if this is correct, does anyone know of a Renault specialist in the Crawley/West Sussex area who might be able to service a simple Clio at real world prices?? Thanks in advance folks.

Ooops sorry i read it wrong . Over £200 is too much , sounds like a bit of a rip off to me . You can get your car serviced at any VAT registered garage now and it won't affect your warranty as long as they use original Renault parts .

Some more info on servicing intervals , what's done etc ...... here :

1 year, 12,000 miles applies to Renaultsport models only.

Thanks Griff, that would be great. Seems Renault dealers are as useless as VW dealers as i've been told 1 year/18,000 miles by at least one dealer today.

It's not uncommon mate. I've heard all sorts of ridiculous service intervals from Renault in the past.

It's best to have your service booklet to hand when booking a service and/or going into the dealership.

The service intervals are on page 3 (of mine anyway)

Cheers for your time Mr Griff. I shall have a more detailed read of the service book and will call Renault customer services for clarification if needed.

Well Griff, i spoke to Renault customer help and they, along with the dealers, say it needs to be serviced every year. Apparently it is the newer Euro 4 engine whatever that means??
