Clio speakers

  172 MKII FF
Hi,

I have just purchased my Clio 172 RS and am considering upgrading the speakers from the standard factor fitted ones to something a bit better. Would upgrading the speakers make much difference from the standard fit ones? Could anyone recommend any and where to purchase them from?

Thanks

Everything else bar the speakers is standard. Got a decent Alpine head unit from my old car sitting around just never got round to fitting it. I prefer having a tape player though as I can connect iPod up to it and also like having the cd changer.

Rear speakers are well easy to fit, took about 20mins. Just take the plastic covers off then swap them over.

Fronts take a bit longer as you have to remove the dash to fit the tweeters and cross-over, but even that isnt too hard. Nice wkend project to have a go at.

I would spend between £50 and £100 - £100 is getting a tad excessive i think.

I have the standard Clio head unit in and have been thinking of installing a different head unit - would this make much difference? Also, how can I integrate the stereo with the stalk on the steering wheel to change tracks etc. Oh and the stereo is linked upto a CD changer under my passenger seat.

I have a pair of Pinoneer TS-A6901 speakers from my previous car and have been thinking of taking these to a car audio place to fit. Anyone give me suggestions on how to fit these myself? How can I link these into the current wiring? Does the stereo have inputs for these speakers etc etc?

Thanks again.

Okay i've read in a few posts that it is advisable to install some coaxials to replace the standard front door speakers - is this right? How easy are they to fit? Does it require any new wiring etc. Also, what are the small speaker things on the dashboard? Is it worth replacing these as well?
