clio v6 phase 1 cam belt

  clio v6 s1
Im currently running a 2001(x) Clio v6 phase 1, it has covered only 25,000 miles. Im the 3rd owner and the car has been serviced 3 times, oil, filters and brakes check. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on when i should be changing my cam belts etc??

72,000 miles or 5 years whichever is soonest.

Should have been done 2 years ago, get it done asap!

As Danny said above, 5 years is the limit.... IF it goes, it is very messy, so you might want to bite the bullet and get it booked in somewhere... Aux belts might as well be changed too at the same time...

Get the water pump done when you get the cambelt done, if that goes its a huge amount of labour so may aswell get it done whilst the engines out.

I also had the clutch done for peace of mind to save on a few quids labour whilst the thing was apart.

I'd get the clutch done while your at it too. Makes sense.

With it being an X reg, I guess you have an ex press car ??

A normal service isn't that pricey imo, insurance for me is sub £700 so not bad all, tax is £210 for a year (at the min)

People who buy them don't expect them to be cheap to run by any means. Those who get one & can't afford the up keep of it either just make do, or sell it.
