Alright Aryton Senna, calm down..A bit late to the party I know, but yes, it was my car, 1st time out in it on track which threw up a knackered OS outer CV joint after about 4 laps, hence the reason I was taking it easy, or it could have been the Mrs driving, also her 1st time out in it and was struggling to see over the dash as the seat needed raising 😂
I don’t know what you were driving, but it’s a shame I wasn’t in my old R26 as I doubt you’d have got anywhere near it, but hey ho, there’s always next time 😘

Yep, about the 4th lap out it was knocking like an impact gun on left handers. Didn’t fancy blowing to pieces as it was early on so babied it for the day. Trust me, it frustrated the s**t out of me as I love Anglesey.
Turns out when I replaced the driveshafts that it had had a driveshaft spacer fitted to the OS and not the NS (where it should have been) so left me wondering if that was the cause of it knocking.
It was my 1st time out in it on track since buying it and it showed up a few issues which I’ve just about sorted, the main one being I hadn’t really gelled with the car as I’m constantly comparing it to my old R26 which felt so much more planted.
Anyway I didn’t realise it was a race, so sorry if I ‘held you up’ Carl… maybe this year I’ll be on it and we can have a proper battle on the track rather than willy waving on a forum in front of your mates 😂😂

Its not a race bud, I think the issue was the Meg was quite quick so being a bit slow in the corners (for whatever reason) then gunning it on the straights is always annoying. Just take it on the chin, everyone is friendly here.

Sorry to poke Roger, but this isn’t adding up. You were on track and driving slowly with a knocking CV joint. But you couldn’t see it so just kept going on track?

There’s nothing to add up really…I wouldn’t exactly say I was driving slow, just not as hard as I would normally.
It started knocking on left handers early on so I just took it easy on the left turns rather than load it up, as soon as it started I knew what it was, certainly not worth parking it up and ending my day at 10am.

Sorry, I wasn’t important enough to have a garage, so drove it back to the paddock area where I checked it over and couldn’t see any visible signs of a problem. CV boot was intact and I deemed it ok to carry on. Didn’t realise I had to run it by a panel to go back out with it 🙄

You do actually have to run it past our resident CSF Mekanik @dann2707. He was awarded the title as he can quickly and efficiently run under the car and check. Due to his compact size you don’t even need to jack the car up.

If you come to CSF25, you’ll know who he is as he should have a high vis on with the title ‘Shaft Inspector’ on the back. He’ll always look like he’s miles away but he’s not, it’s just because he’s short.
