Clock/temp display question

I've done a search but I can't find the answer I'm looking for.

Yesterday I fitted an alpine head unit into the Clio, so obviously I've lost the use of the stalk and display. I'm not bothered at all about this and I'm not looking to buy anything to retain the use of the stalk.

However, I thought I'd still get at least the time and temp still being displayed but I seem to of lost everything from the display. Is this normal? Any way to just get my clock back?

Mine doesn't have anything plugged in and still says the time and temp.

Not knocked a connection out have you?

Hmmm I don't think so mate

I was beginning to wonder whether the whole display is powered from the original head unit, but obviously not if yours still works

neither type of clock is powered by the radio so it should still show temp and clock. are you sure the bulbs haven't gone and it's just very feint.

Nah I changed the bulbs less than a month ago, and they were fine yesterday until I swapped the stereo lol

f**k that though, have you seen how many wires there are at the back of an alpine unit? Took me ages get it in sod the clock
