Clunk, clunk up to bang bang noise when i accelerate

As above really, normal driving no clunking and then dependant on how quickly i press down the load pedal the severity of the clunk clunk (two clunks). It's a stripped out car so everything is magnified, sounds like it's coming from the drivers side suspension.

Any idea's, i'm supposed to be driving about 45minutes each way tomorrow and am not sure whether to risk it.

I got the car back today after being parted since March 2012, so i can't say if the problems a recent one.

Have you checked things like top mount, springs, engine mounts

i'm not sure i know how i'd go about checking them, just give everything a jiggle?
