clunk on full lock

Car  Astra van,Mk1 nova
well its not as much as a big clunk, its a small one on near full lock :S and it creaks on near full lock while going slow, for example a u-turn?

i was thinking maybe something to do with a bottom ball joint?

sounds like a bottom ball joint.

renault only sell it with the complete bottom arm but apparently some factors can get them seperate, but im not a fan of non genuine parts.

no havent done the spacer modification guys, tbh i think it may be the BBJ as my old valver done exactly the same thing and it turned out to be the BBJ :dapprove:

Any way of telling its fecked by jacking it up and taking the wheel off?

Probably not bud and i'm guessing the ball joint would have a bit of play in it if its worn mate ;)

And the top mount knocking is the Front suspension top caps catching on the suspension turret in the engine bay.

This can be resolved by fitting an appropriate sized washer onto the Shockers piston rod before refitting the topcaps again.

This just gives a little bit mre clearance between the top cap and the suspension turret and combats the knocking noise.

P.s to tell if your top caps have been catching check the gap between them and the suspension turrets and if the paint on the turret is worn/scratched/scuffed away its probably been catching and rubbing at some point and maybe been like that for a while. ;)
