clunk when clutch dropped

when driving hard or dropping the clutch hard im getting a clunky knock from what i think is the battery side of the engine bay ive got a mk2 2002 172 please can some one help its driving me insane thanks chaps

Engine mounts (Top gearbox mount)

is that under the airbox area

Under your battery mate, could have just come loose.

Yeah.

The manifold hitting the subframe most likely.

Simple adjustments might be possible. Loosen two top mounts, pull engine forward and tighten the mounts.

If not, they'll need replacing.
