Ok, just went to reverse my car there to park in work and there was a loudish clunk from around the engine bay somewhere. Only did it once, then reversed fine. Does it everytime I select reverse, 1 clunk then drives ok. Anyone any ideas what this could b?
normally a shaft when you can feel it while turning,i had the same problem, turned out to be my top engine mount on the left as you look at the cat from the front
This sounds really bad. It only clunks once, then runs fine until you go forward then select reverse again, then another clunk. could this be a driveshaft problem?
Had a real good look at the car last nite, and cant see anythin obvious. Mounts seem ok, but could it be a dog bone mount? Just notied this morning it makes a less noisey knock when coming off the power in 2nd 3rd and 4th? Anyone had this b4?
Still no further on with this! Anyone any ideas, I'm gonna replace the dog bone mount on sat and see if that helps. Need to know what the problem is! HELP!
Ok, got the car up on a 4-post ramp yesterday and the clunking noise seems to be coming from inside the gearbox. So either reverse gear is about to fall out, or the diff is fubar!
Could be as I have a magnex cat back with Janspeed. But def sounded like it was in the gearbox! Car's up forsale atm so hopefully she'll be fine till she's sold!
