Clutch brand

Got the gearbox out and @NorthloopCup has refurbished it, going to chuck a clutch in too given it's stripped that far and over 100k miles.

What are folks thoughts on brands? Sachs is always a safe bet in my eyes but a quick google had a few folk mentioning to stick with Valeo.

If that is the thinking, where best to get a Valeo one? I've seen GSF mentioned but I didn't have a great experience with them recently and you can't choose a brand any more than 'standard' or 'premium'.

Can't remember which is which for ph1 or 2, but then read somewhere that both part numbers work, not sure of this though - can anyone confirm.???? But the first one is a bargain on Amazon, just thought I'd mention it after spotting it the other day....

Genuine ValeoClutch kit is used on the Clios from factory.

The OE part number for the 3 piece clutch kit is - 7701476557

You can get the correct same one from ebay also for £99.00

I can't tell you exact mileage, as it was in a box I bought, but it didn't slip, etc, and covered less than 1000 miles in my ownership.

Still can see the word "Valeo" printed on it!

Just bought this my clutch is the original factory fitted so will be 14 years old in November and has covered 71953 miles.
It still works but the clutch release bearing is noisy when warm and makes a creaking noise when pressed.
Cant wait for a light-ish pedal.

I will go LUK if This fails.
They way i see it is a lot more people will be fitting Valeo so you will hear of more failures.
The Luk uses a different pressure plate but has a Valeo disc.

You just made up my mind. Bought a LUK kit.

I put a LUK into a 1.2 clio a couple of years ago and the pedal was nice and light after.

Yeah ive bought the grease Renault use Molykote BR-2 also going to replace the pivot ball its only £1.61
