any1? and how the hell am i supposed to get it to a garage?
Push it?!

Cable will be about £12 poss cheaper! Not long for a garage to fit, just a bit fiddly!

You can drive a car with out a clutch, but if you havent done it before I wouldnt recommend trying it.

Try starting in first and creeping along to a garage in first. just remember you have to turn it off to stop! and to get going again do the same, will put some stress on the starter motor tho!

Have you thought about trying the job yourself, its not that hard!

Just buy a new cable mate, you can just about do it on the roadside with a couple of tools...

You wanna chack the automatic adjuster on the clutch pedal is ok too, when my mates vavler did the samething it snapped this clip and he needed a whole new adjuster, total b*sterd that was too!

i dont have a scooby about cars unfortunately  thank god its not expensive, immega skint at the mo! cheers folks

The clutch on the exs valver was a complete b!tch to do - we gave up and towed it to a mechanic bloke! Even he struggled and we later found out hed put it on wrong!

Good luck with it!

i know in my local area there are now a few mobile mechanics, have a look in the yellow pages, i know they might not be your local trusted outfit, but at least they could get you goin again

no aa for me im afraid, my mates dad is a mechanic and he said he wouldnt even do it cos its a total b**ch to do? id prob need to take it to reno, fukc that! ill phone my local garage today its only just up the road, how much would a garage take to supply and fit roughly?

thanks for the help

yeah ive fitted these on my last two cars, thought i could do the valver but feck me its a b**ch. uve got to take it to someone that knows what there doing relaly cos i had one of them mobile mechanics out and he routed it the wrong way puttign too much strain on it which made it snap. lost another ne cos the clutch was nearly gone so make sure u get that checked. i wouldnt attempt this on ur own its such a b**ch tryign to get it back through into the car.

I done my peddle and cable about 2 weeks ago, if youve gto good general knowledge of car maintenance then its not too bad to fix, just a little bit fiddly.

Peddle was about £25 and the cable about £15

In total it took me around three hours one evening after work.

You dont need any tools to replace the cable, just a piece of string and the new cable! ;) Oh, its a little easier if you jack the car up too so I suppose the jack is a tool!?

The teeth on the ratchet adjuster on the pedal can wear down, but I doubt they have, Ive replced cables on 14 year old R5s (same pedals) and they have been in perfect condition.

Its just very fiddly to do, especially when you have to feed the cable through the guide on the top of the clutch pedal.!!! Not a job I enjoy!

mine snapped on friday morning just as i was pulling into work. got it towed to my local garage and picked it up sat morning as he ordered the cable on friday morning and it didnt come till ten to five. all sorted now though

goog luck
