clutch problem? and slight oil leak

I have recently bought a '02 172. After a couple of weeks driving i am loving the car but have noticed some slight friction when pulling off either in 1st or reverse. Renault have told me i need a new clutch, does this sound right? If so any ideas of a decent price for new kit, renault quoted £800!
Also have a small amount of oil that is gathered around the head area under renault sport logo on engine? I'd rather it wasn't there really! Anyone have any ideas where this may be leaking from and any possible ways to fix? I'm aware that these jobs could be quite expensive! cheers

The oil might have just collected there when who ever was topping the oil up had missed the oil filling hole (not sure what else to call it) and it's dribbled down there. Mine was the same, I just got a long thin screwdriver and wrapped a rag around the end of it and mopped the oil up. Nothing has appeared there since.

As for your clutch, if you really need a new one, don't use Renault, they'll have your pants down.
